In the UK there are over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests a year.
A recent survey found that just 48% of people had the confidence to use a defibrillator in an emergency. This rose to 95% for people who had received defibrillator training.
To help save more lives, we’re urging people to learn how to use a defibrillator as part of a nationwide campaign.
Each year Defibruary throughout the month of February seeks to help people become more defibrillator aware by encouraging them to either ‘Learn where their nearest defibrillator is’ Know where their nearest defibrillator is located or ‘Donate to support our work so that we can place more public access defibrillatoes in communities.

Since 2012, over 84,000 people have already been given the confidence to use a defibrillator by Calon Hearts. We are set to raise this figure as more people will be trained with free community sessions taking place throughout the year.
Our training ensures people know what to expect when using one of these life-saving devices, and it also gives them the confidence to use one in a life-threatening situation.
To date, Calon Hearts have placed over 24,000 defibrillators into communities
